Our Office
OUR OFFICE
INFORMATION
Office Hours
Our office is open from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. weekdays and limited hours on Saturday mornings. All hours are by appointment only. We believe your time is valuable and we will do our best to prevent you from long waiting periods; however, emergencies may occur and cause unforeseen delays. You may notice others being called ahead of you, even if they arrived after you. This is because there are always several doctors seeing patients at one time.
After Hours Coverage
One of our physicians is always available for urgent calls after regular hours. During the evening and weekends, our telephone is answered by the Medical Bureau, who will contact the physician on call. If you are having a MEDICAL EMERGENCY, call 911 or go to the nearest Hospital Emergency Room.
Office Services
We perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), most laboratory studies and pulmonary function tests in our office. The best time to stop by for routine blood work is Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.. If you need X-rays or other diagnostic studies, you will be referred to the imaging center of your choice.
Waiting Room
Upon arrival, please sign in before being seated. This should prevent us from missing anyone when we are extremely busy. Please arrive promptly for your appointment as your physician may be unable to see you if you arrive late. Please call 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel your appointment. There may be a charge for non-cancelled, missed appointments. We may ask you to update your patient information sheet periodically. We ask that you bring a photo ID and insurance cards with you, as we need to scan them. We do this so that our records remain current and accurate. As always, all information is strictly confidential. A copy of our privacy policy is available and posted on our bulletin board.
CONTACTING YOUR DOCTOR
Telephone
Our telephone number is (717) 761-3875 and our fax number is (717) 761-7893. Our telephones are answered from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Voicemail is available for non-urgent appointments, medication refills, billing questions, and referrals. After hours calls will be answered by our answering service, who can page the on-call physician in the event of an emergency.
Return Calls
Our physicians are unable to return every call personally. Many times we will ask our medical assistants to return your call with our instructions or information. This allows us to attend to our patients with a minimum of interruptions.
Prescription Refills
Other than urgent situations, refills for medications are issued during office hours only. Please note that prescriptions for narcotics and other controlled substances must be signed for and picked up during office hours. When calling, please have the following information available: Your name and phone number (please spell your name), name and strength of medication, quantity of pills requested, directions for taking the medication, pharmacy name and location. Refill requests phoned in after 12:00 p.m. may not be available at the pharmacy until the following day.
Test Results
One of our medical assistants or your physician will contact you with your laboratory and X-ray results within one week of your procedure. If you have not received your results after one week, please call the office to request your results.
